Glenn and I flew today at the Tharwa field.
I achieved a flight of 12min 50sec with my Little 44″ Tom Boy and a flight of 10min 10sec with my Tom Boy Senior. I actually flew it out of some fairly strong lift as it was getting pretty high and the wind started to come up. When I got down a bit lower, I noticed that the battery was hanging under the plane by it’s lead so I landed prematurely.
Glenn had a successful ROW with his Tom Boy on floats. He achieved a time of 4min 52sec before he had a unfortunate return to earth as a result of what appeared to be a faulty battery connector. There is some video footage of this flight which I am sure someone will post in due course.
I have posted a short video of my first attempt at ROW. It was far too blowy, in fact more than it shows on the video but indicates that I need to go back a redesign my floats.
