Thanks very much to the members who took part in the club’s 2026 Member Survey that the club ran through the whole of April. There were 14 respondents and the results are summarised below:
There was one suggestion sent to the survey mail account asking for more glider competitions. As many club members fly gliders as well as planes that is something that will get definite consideration for the future.
Currently we run one glider comp, the Viagra Cup, which runs from January through to the end of November. The objective is to make the longest flight after a 20 second motor run. This is the second year we have run this competition and it has been pretty well supported. I would expect that this competition will continue in future years as long as club members are interested in taking part. If anyone has specific ideas for other types of glider competition then please talk to any committee member.
Your committee discussed the results at the May 4th committee meeting and will focus future events on the priorities from the survey.

I am currently building a Tomboy Senior.
The wing ribs are 3d printed and i believe this maybe the first time such a method has been attempted at our club. So far the result is looking fabulous. The wing is very true and does not seem heavier than normal. If possible I’ll try to post an image of the wing.
