I think everyone who attends the club’s monthly BBQ enjoys getting together with other club members (even the cooks) but there has been an ongoing issue with volunteers and the cooking falls to the same small group of people, so after much discussion amongst the committee we have decided to institute a roster for cooking at the monthly BBQ.
What this means is that every club member will be allocated a cooking slot but will only have to cook once every 18 months to 2 years so the load is evenly spread. If for any reason someone can’t cook in their allocated slot then it is their responsibility to swap. The menu for the BBQ is up to the cooks (as is cleaning up afterwards) and the club will subsidise the costs up to $30.00 per BBQ.
There will be a draw for cooking slots at the April BBQ for cooks for the remainder of 2024. Anyone (excluding committee members) who has cooked at the February, March or April BBQs will be exempted from the draw ie. they have already done their bit.
