Military Day Fun Fly Announcement

Namadgi Sports Flyers Club are holding a military themed fun fly on the last Sunday in October (26 October 2025) at Tharwa flying field. The fun fly will run from 9am until 1pm although members can fly for as long as they wish.

The event is planned as a Fun Fly. Aircraft do not have to be scale models of actual military aircraft as long as there is, in the broadest possible interpretation, some sort of military link (eg. an RAF roundel on a Tomboy).

In keeping with the club’s approach to end-of-month BBQ’s there will be a couple fun events for participant’s to take part in if they wish:

  • a bomb drop
  • an aerial combat event streamer cutting open to any electric powered foam aircraft model that can tow a streamer

Fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft are welcome but not quad copters or multi-rotors.

It is also planned to have a “People’s Choice” award voted on by all participants.

In keeping with the non-competitive nature of the event there will be no prizes but winners in each category will be showered with glory and their success acknowledged on the club website forum.

Participants, particularly those from other clubs are encouraged to bring their own shade tents as there is limited shade at Tharwa flying field.

There will be a BBQ free to all participants and to NSFC club members.

There will also be limited toilet facilities at the field.

There are several plans to choose from and as far as combat goes they are all interchangeable:

All the above pages are in German so you may need to push the translate button for maximum information.

All the models above use a 3S LiPo battery of maximum 1300mah, a 1400kv brushless motor and the prop 7×6 diameter.

But wait there is more … for the adventurous you can build any WWI or WWII cartoon scale aircraft with Maximum 650mm wingspan and utilising the power train above.
