COVID-19 Update – Tharwa and Williamsdale fields are open for flying

The Committee is pleased to advise that with immediate effect we are reopening our Flying Fields for a maximum number of ten people in accordance with government restrictions.

As I am sure you realise we have to put some constraints around how we open the field and ensure that we do not exceed the 10 people limit, keep ourselves and our families safe and do everything we can to defeat Covid-19.  Accordingly we have decided to implement the following procedures until government restrictions ease further:

  1. Only 10 people or less should be at either field at any one time.
  2. Only 10 cars are permitted in the carpark at any one time.  The Main Gate must be closed when the 10 car limit is reached. The carpark gate should be left open when less than 10 cars are in the carpark.  If the carpark is full you should park on the road and stay in your car until somebody leaves and there is room for you.
  3. NO VISITORS will be permitted during this period of restricted access.
  4. The BBQ container will be kept locked so people do not share cups, spoons, biscuits etc.  So please bring your own refreshments.
  5. All members should ensure they comply with government restrictions and recommendations, which at a broad level are:
  • Maintain 1.5m physical distancing;
  • Maintain hand hygiene;
  • Practise respiratory hygiene;
  • Do not come to the field if you have a cold or any other flu symptoms; and
  • Download the Covid-safe app.

If we all comply with these procedures we are probably as safe as we possibly can be.  Enjoy your flying.
