Flight Reports

Continued from Glen’s Tomboy report, 14 Feb 2026:
… for some more material for the score sheet, 5 or 6 days ago Allan Laycock had a couple of attempts at the Viagra “Other” category, but only scored a 1:20 with his Cardinal plus a second flight of 1:24 using the Cardinal but with the similar dimension Icthyornis upper wing (the Cardinal wing had come up second best after contact with a fence post…). Maybe call this hybrid a CardiOrnis?

From James, 24 Jan 2026:
Some nice flying weather early this morning with good lift to the south in a northerly breeze. I managed a 17m 36s flight with my trusty 2m Radian glider.

From Neil, 23 Jan 2026:
Lots of lift over the ridge to the north of our Tharwa flying field under a group of fluffy white clouds. The clouds were handy because they made my EasyGlider Pro easier to see at a distance. As soon as the clouds moved off the lift I was finding evaporated!

From Neil, 01 Jan 2026:
First flight of 2026. I decided to take advantage of the slightly better flying weather predicted for New Years Day. There wasn’t a huge amount of lift but mid-morning the eagles were out drifting around which gave some hope. Launched the EasyGlider hit about 200M after a 20 second engine run. Found a lot of lift over the hills at the northern end of the stip and was soon up to 300M but with a lot of grey cloud both Glen and kept loosing sight of the model as well as its orientation so after 6 mins I was very glad to get the glider down in one piece.
