Roadworks Delay on Lanyon to Tharwa Road

Hi Guys I was out at the field today and on my way there was held up for at least 15 to 20 minutes waiting to be escorted in a convoy through extensive roadworks on the Tharwa road. They are doing major resurfacing works to all the road, both lanes for at least half a klm and have a lot of asphalt tankers and other equipment along the road.

These roadworks are supposed to occur from 4 Nov to the 11th of November unless delayed by rain. Which means they will probably go longer.

I decided to come back via Point Hut crossing which was also closed, due to the river height I assume, so I had a very scenic and enjoyable drive via the Cotter.

So Guys expect to be delayed if travelling out to the field in the next week or so. Hopefully they wont be working on Sunday so there wont be delays then.

Just thought I would tell you.

  1. Thanks Garry, this is interesting as I can recall such works being carried out a couple of months ago. Presumably, these new works must be major compared to the previous works. One wonders why the works weren’t fully completed a couple of months ago.
