Some days you get the bear, other days the bear gets you…
Today I achieved my annual quota of the bear getting me. There are only good flying days ahead for the rest of the year … right?

Sorry to hear and see this carnage Mark.
Don’t give up on the 3D printed stuff just yet … maybe just pick something a little less left field, like the Savage Bobber or P-47 for examples
Mark,
Did you run over a black cat on the way to the field? I’ve had bad days but never as consistent as this. You should have weeks of trouble free flying days from now on.

Black cat, unicorn – i must have run over something.
That same session I also broke the propeller on my nitro bird when it slammed into the arrester-grass in a dead-stick landing
🙁
Hi Mark
The Northern Pike is worth the effort to get flying. It’s quite docile once in the air, and landings are OK, although it does come in quite fast. It looks like you could re-print the nose section and re-build it. Heaps of static thrust is useful for hand launching this plane.
Once in the air, the hardest thing with it is the orientation. The forward swept wings take a bit to get used. This combined with a fairly fast speed for comfortable flight is a tricky combination. On my first flight I nearly lost it because of it’s speed and shape.
I started with overhead hand launches for the NP but they were always a bit scary. I changed to bungee launches and this was much better.
Hope you get it flying!
Cheers
Jeremy
I’m confused, that looks like a pretty normal level of carnage for a day at the field for me! 🙂
Hi Jeremy, thanks for the info and encouragement
Hi Alex, let me know when you are flying next. I wanna come and watch 😁
