MAAA Digital Membership Cards – No Longer Paper Membership Cards

Please see the email below from the President of the MAAA advising that we no longer will be receiving paper membership cards. We will be accessing our digital membership cards from an email sent to each member by the MAAA.

Please note it is essential that your membership details recorded with the MAAA are correct, especially your e-mail address. If you haven’t a personal email address you can use a friend or relatives email. So, please get on the MAAA website and confirm your membership details and email address are correct.

Also note you don’t have to have a hard copy version of the membership card, an electronic version is sufficient, for example, stored on your phone.

MAAA President’s Email Announcing The Change.

Evening All,

As discussed at the recent MAAA Council Conference the process for Registration of existing MAAA members will remain unchanged.  It will be completed in the same manner as previous years – the only difference is there will be no hard copy cards printed and sent by the MAAA or States.

Members will now receive an electronic version of the MAAA card which will look identical to the previous physical MAAA letter including the cut out card.

To access the electronic version, a member will receive an email with a unique embedded link which will be used to access their MAAA 2023 card.  Members will be requested to answer a simple security question (e.g. select all the trees within an image) to ensure the security of the MAAA systems are maintained.  From here you can print the card or save it to a device (phone or similar) or forward it to someone else as required.

Cards can be forwarded to a friend, grandchildren, your local IT friend, or perhaps the club secretary to print your card.

If a member does not have email address then we suggest that the Club provides the Clubs contact email address for these members.

As always, your receipt from the club is your proof of payment and membership of the MAAA.

Note – The creation of invoices to the States from the MAAA will also remain unchanged.  The generation of email batches will run on a weekly basis and will continue until the end of August at this stage.  Additional runs can be made if required but at this stage we believe the weekly process will be sufficient to support renewals and payments between clubs, States and the MAAA.

We are in the final stages of testing the new electronic cards and the first batch of emails with the embedded link will be sent at the end of the first week in July 2022.  Currently there are some 1550 renewals already, please keep them coming in and we will get them out soon.

Please circulate this message to your Committee and also your Clubs executives.  A version of this communication will be sent to all MAAA members prior to the weekend, so they are all up to speed with what is happening.

Regards

Tim Nolan
