I was out at the the club for some flying today. When I arrived there were three young males setting up to fly in the grounds of the club. They were not members of the club, and had jumped the fences to get access to the field. They’d also parked their car right across the gate into the field. No other club members were there.
After they moved their car, I parked near the gate. I then let them know that only club members can fly at the field. They didn’t dispute this, and were OK about leaving. They told me they were setting up to do some video recording with a drone. I think this was true, as they only seemed to have one drone with them, and during the time I was there I think they set up down the road (towards the visitors centre), and seemed to be using a drone to follow a car towards the bridge near the field.
I got the number plate, if that’s of any use. Not sure who’s meant to look after this sort of thing, but please let me know if you would like the plate number.
Other than this, the day’s flying was really good. Conditions were excellent….almost no wind, and almost warm!

I’ve sent a note around to the committee members for them to consider what should be done in situations like this
I don’t believe that we have any signage to advise that the club facilities are for the use of club members and their invited guests and that the field is “Private Property”; perhaps this needs to be rectified?
Other than that, if a person appears to be a potential member or is named “Young-Write” the should be invited to apply for membership and made welcome.
That did not read as intended, the name “Young-Write is a definite impediment to membership
Well done Jeremy for talking to these guys and letting them know that you need to be a member to use our Club’s flying field.
Regards
Trevor
