Soaring

What a great morning today at the field. Soaring conditions were so good. I had a 19 min flight with Phoenix with 72% remaining on the battery. ...

Hanger Clearance

In recent times some of you may have heard me saying that you should have asked me before going off and trying to order from somewhere online … Well I’ve decided to thin out a lot of stuff that I have in the hangar and will likely never get to build or fly.

There are a couple of foamies, that would like a new home such as my old battle weary Trojan T28 or the new still in box Skysword with 70mm EDF unit and retracts.

There are a number of balsa kits, mostly park fliers from Stevens Aero and Mozano Laserworks, but there is a 1/4 scale  Anderson Kingfisher kit from HangerOne in New Zealand (https://hangaronekits.com/collections/sport-aircraft-kits/products/anderson-kingfisher-108-90-to-120-size-laser-cut-short-kit).

I have a large number of smaller size electic motors, mostly used but from what I can tell they still function, several EDF fan units – mostly 70mm in size.

There is also a new Ortur Laser Master 2 that has been modified for Air Assist and has the 5.5w diode laser head (20W model) – https://youtu.be/wMw2vqhJEOk?t=1710 … I dont need 3 in the workshop 🙂

I will put together a list in the next week or so, but if you don’t want to wait just get in touch and ask read more

Glider Time

This is a classic Ralph Learmont Apollo that was passed on to me. The radio gear has been updated an the pushrod layout changed for better access to the wing joiner hooks. I have ZERO experience with unpowered gliders and towline launches, so the maiden was interesting. Thanks to Clem for passing the Apollo to me, Ralph and Beverley Learmont for supplying build documentation and Bill / Peter for the launch. More fun to come!
