  1. Great flight mark – sorry about the dodgy launch though. Were you able to zoom in on the landing and see exactly what happened to the prop?

  2. You did fine with the launch. I think the aircraft naturally drops its bum until sufficient lift is produced over the rear wing. The quality of the hatcam video that I had is not good when blowing up still frames that are at a distance. Everything is very blurry. I think Pommie Dave was correct in suggesting that because I had not programmed in a propeller brake, the blades were still spinning even though the motor was off. This would have made the blades pop out rather than be streamline with the body and hence the break.

  3. Hi Jeremy,
I had set the CoG to 32 mm with a nose heavy bias. I had to give the aircraft a reasonable amount of nose up trim to get her to fly straight and level. However, I expected this as I had not set any reflex. The elevator trim now guides me the the amount of reflex I need to set.

For the next flight I will bring the CoG bias back slightly as the control surface authority diminished too much at landing speed. I had the elevators in full pitch up deflection in the final approach for landing. I had nothing left for the flare but to gun the motor. It is likely the reason the prop blade came off (impacting the ground).

I think the default down thrust of the motor is good. The bird could undergo full acceleration without pitching.

She handled very nicely (on rails).
